Jul 28 - Great improvements on motor skills

Jul 28th - Kyle's main speech therapist says that Kyle is actually orally defensive and not aversive. The symptoms and reactions when food is presented are defensiveness and not aversion. He is highly guarded right now and we need to earn his trust and make him feel safe to eat again. Once we can break that barrier he will eat again. She as well as every other speech and occupational therapist here all agree that Kyle definitely does not have any type of sensory issue. He is perfectly fine with all textures.

In addition to being able to sit up on his own from the boppy pillow and accepting weight much better on his legs Kyle is also tolerating standing up in his stander for much longer periods of time. Yesterday he was in it for just over an hour. What's more exciting is that Kyle started taking steps while being held in the standing position! He was standing up in his soft hospital bed yesterday while standing up (with me holding him by his arms) and he started stepping forward - one foot at a time! He did it several more times today both for me and Josh and in front of one of the therapists too! His PT is going to get us the exact same model of stander he's using here when we get home so it'll be a smooth transition when we leave.

The vomiting is still in effect. Almost every single day he loses pretty much the whole 7:30 pm feeding. We requested to feed him less for that feeding but it doesn't seem to help. We think it might be related to teething because he's popping out 6 teeth all at once and the vomit is mostly mucus.
