Sep 23rd - Kyle turned one year adjusted today. He is still not at the level of a normal one year old but he has come a long way and exceeded doctors' expectations. He is not crawling, standing unassisted or walking yet but he recently learned how to clap and bang two toys together. He is able to stand by holding on to furniture for up to half an hour now. He has also been holding on to the side rails of his crib so he should be trying to pull himself up soon we hope! He is babbling and he says mama, dada, baba, nana, aga, and all kinds of other random things although he doesn't know what they mean yet. Both his physical therapist and speech therapist think he understands a lot more than we think, that his receptive language is a lot more advanced than we think it is.

We are currently taking a break from the oral feeding attempts and pretty much everything on his face to rebuild trust. Hopefully this will be the start of something amazing in the near future.

Kyle now weighs 9 kg (he was close to 21 lbs but lost some weight during the wean and is now slowly gaining back) and measures 73 cm (28.75").
